Kath Ashlin is our 2026 Montville Citizen of the Year. Kath has lived in Montville for more than 22 years and has been gardening, weeding and cleaning up Montville’s Main Street on a weekly basis, assisting business owners to manage gardens.

Kath has personally supplied plants and other gardening items, watered and maintained garden beds to improve the overall look of Main Street.

She has been instrumental in cutting back the walkway over the bridge to Altitude several times when it was neglected, ignored by council and becoming impassable or treacherous underfoot. Kath has organised a small group of Montville residents including her husband Brian, to help in her project to beautify Main Street. She has also instigated decorating the street poles with tinsel at Christmas over the last couple of years.
